Blaye-Lamarque Crossing

The Blaye-Lamarque line allows you to cross the Gironde estuary in around 20 minutes, over a distance of 4.5 km (2.4 nautical miles).

Tonnage restriction

In order to preserve the safety of people, access to the Sébastien Vauban ship is limited to road units weighing less than 3.5 tonnes from July 1, 2021.

The ferry for crossing the Gironde Blaye-Lamarque

The double-ended vessel, capable of going in both directions without turning around, and baptized the "Sébastien-Vauban", replaced the "Côte de Blaye" which had been built in 1970.
This modern boat meets the latest technological and environmental standards.
In particular, there is no discharge into the waters of the Gironde estuary. Wastewater is stored on board before being emptied at the quay.
The new "Sébastien-Vauban" Blaye-Lamarque ferry has a capacity of 300 passengers and 40 cars. It also provides transport for buses, trucks, caravans, trailers, etc.
The Sébastien VAUBAN double-ended vessel is equipped with a lift for people with reduced mobility.
